How do I make an offer on a home?

Have you found a home that’s perfect for you? If so, you can make an offer to the seller. This is usually done in writing—for example, using an offer form or via email—depending on the arrangements made with the real estate agent.

In your offer, include at least the amount you wish to offer, the validity period of your offer, and any conditions precedent, such as obtaining a mortgage. Also make it clear which property your offer applies to.

Please note: an offer is not necessarily non-binding. An offer can become legally binding as soon as it is accepted by the seller. Therefore, think carefully about the amount and the terms before making an offer.

Do you have questions about making an offer? Feel free to discuss the terms with your real estate agent or notary before submitting your offer.
